When you hear Laser tattoo removal, do you think about friends or colleagues and what they would look like without their ink? Some people with multiple tattoos love their ink, mostly. Often I speak to clients during their free consultation and I hear, “I have many tattoos but I just want this one removed or faded. Can you remove this part but leave that part?”
The answer is yes.
At Unthink Inc this is done very easily. There are three ways we can isolate a part or section of your tattoo, while leaving the rest of your skin art intact. I use simple tools that use complex science.
All through school we were taught white is the absence of colour and black is an amalgamation of all colours reflected back to the human eye. The PicoWay laser uses mainly photoacoustic laser energy to lock onto a chromophore or coloured cell, like tattoo ink and pulverize it into smaller particles.
By utilizing this principal of white being the absence of colour, here are some real photos of Unthink Inc clients and the use of some simple scientific techniques trace areas to be treated and somewhat block the efficacy of the laser over areas to be protected.
Here I have used a white eyeliner pencil to trace the edges of a part of the neck tattoo the client wants to keep. Leaving the outside detail to be removed. Resulting in a smaller visible neck tattoo.
In this photo prior to a testing an area for laser reaction, white paper tape was used to make obvious contrast lines to see how the ink reacts to the PicoWay laser.
Finally, we see the typical white frosting immediately after a first laser treatment. Notice the care taken to edge the red ink by using a tongue depressor or applicator baton. By pressing the baton firmly against the skin, this is by far the most effective way to both laser a perfectly straight line and block the laser from penetrating underneath. This is especially helpful to avoid excess hypopigmentation when using the 532 nm wavelength.
If a client wants a tattoo altered or a section of a tattoo removed while leaving ink in close proximity, this can very easily be done at Unthink Inc. Book your free consultation today.
